History
In the late 1960s, the close proximity between marketing, research, and production grew in importance. A new production site close to the Hamburg headquarters was designed to ensure short development cycles. The cornerstone for the plant in Hamburg-Hausbruch was laid in 1971. Since then, the site has continually expanded and with its cleanroom unit and solvent-free production lines, it is one of the most modern in the world.
In 2015, a new polymerization facility was put into operation, allowing tesa more flexibility in the production of modern adhesives. In addition, a new production hall and a new hazardous goods warehouse were built, as well as a modern combined heat and power generation plant, which simultaneously generates warmth for heating and cooling for air-conditioning in addition to electricity.
