In this data protection information, we explain how we process your data for the purposes of our marketing, e.g. for newsletters and when you voluntarily participate in market research or customer feedback interviews and questionnaires.

We use your contact data for the purpose of direct advertising, provided that we have legitimate interests in doing so, or have received your explicit consent. In this context, we usually process contact data (e.g. name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone numbers) as well as your interests/preferences with regard to our products for, e.g. 

• Invitations to events or trade fairs
• Offers and information about our services and products by e-mail
• Christmas/New Years greetings
• Invitations to participate in customer surveys, or market research.

A Customer Data Platform supports us in collecting, standardizing, and matching your data.

With your prior consent, this enables us to create personalized advertising in cooperation with our advertising partners. In the course of using the platform, your personal data and purchase data are processed.

You also agree that we may contact you by telephone for these purposes. 

You can revoke your consent for advertising at any time without giving reasons. In the case of direct advertising based on our legitimate interests, you have the right to object at any time. We will note your revocation/objection and will no longer use your data for marketing purposes in the future. Simply send us an e-mail to .

Following a purchase, we will regularly send you selected product information about similar products from our range by email or by mail. For this purpose, we use the email address or postal address you provided during the ordering process. The legal basis is derived from applicable data protection laws. You will be expressly informed of this communication and your right to object at the time your email address or postal address is collected.

Your participation in a customer survey is voluntary and we only process the personal data provided by you for this purpose. In the case of anonymous customer surveys, we only process the connection data required for technical reasons, including your IP address, which we do not store.

When you voluntarily participate in market research and customer feedback interviews/questionnaires, we process your personal data that you provide to us for these purposes. Depending on the type and scope of the analysis in detail, we may process the following categories of data from you:

• Information about your person (e.g., first and last name, telephone number, e-mail address),
• information about your company as the content of interviews and/or questionnaires,
• other information that you give us in this context. 

 

Only with your explicit consent will we make audio or video recordings of interviews or other conversations.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data is your consent, which you can revoke at any time and without giving reasons. In some cases, our legitimate interests in surveying customer satisfaction and product development as well as information about similar other products are the legal basis for data processing, which you can object to at any time. If you order our newsletter, we need your data (at least your e-mail address) to send you information about products, services, events or other interesting information. The content of the newsletter may be personalized based on your previous purchases. After you have placed your order on our website, you will receive a confirmation e-mail to the e-mail address you provided (so-called double opt-in). During the ordering process, we ask you to agree to further newsletter tracking. 

In doing so, we integrate individual tracking pixels into our newsletters, which enable us to recognize when the newsletter sent to you was accessed or opened and individualize the links present in the newsletter in order to be able to evaluate when you clicked on which link. We process this data on the basis of your consent.

If you wish to revoke your consent, use the link provided in each newsletter to unsubscribe or adjust your consent, or simply send us an email to support[at]tesa.com.

To participate in a prize promotion, we process the required data (e.g., name, address, phone number, email address) in order to register you as a participant and, in the event that you win, to identify and contact you.

Data processing is generally carried out on the contractual basis of the applicable prize promotion terms and conditions. If you have given your consent to data processing when entering the prize promotion, that consent serves as the legal basis for processing. You may withdraw the consent given for the prize promotion at any time. Please refer to the applicable prize promotion terms and conditions or simply send us an email at: support[at]tesa.com.

For the organization of prize promotions, we regularly work with prize promotion partners, who may also be recipients of your data. Where required, we enter into data processing agreements with these recipients.

To participate in a customer rewards program, you generally need to register for an account. We process your personal data (e.g., name, business address, phone number, email address, company name, and where applicable, participant number, purchase and order data, and rewards history) in order to enable and manage your program participation. Purchase and order data may be transferred from your existing business relationship with us.

Data processing is carried out on the basis of the applicable terms of participation or, where we have specifically requested it, on the basis of your consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time and without giving reasons — either by closing your customer rewards program account or by sending us an email at: support[at]tesa.com.

In addition, we pursue our legitimate interests when we analyze customer rewards program usage behavior internally in order to continuously improve our offerings.

We will anonymize or pseudonymize your data at the earliest possible time. If we work with a market research company, anonymization usually takes place immediately before the data is passed on to tesa.

Your data will be stored by us for as long as it is required for the above-mentioned purposes or due to a legal obligation to keep records (e.g. commercial or tax obligations according to commercial code and tax code.

In the event of a win, we retain your data for at least the duration of the statutory limitation period, which is three years, based on our legitimate interests in being able to assess any potential claims arising from the prize promotion.

In connection with a customer rewards program, we delete your data without undue delay upon effective termination of your participation, unless retention is required under applicable commercial or tax law obligations.

For data processing, we are supported by our technical service providers, newsletter providers, commissioned market research institutes and prize promotion partners, which are bound to secrecy and only process the data on our behalf. 

Recipients of your data are other companies within the tesa Group with whom we work closely.
