Chiseled in stone? No, they’re self-made using quick-drying mortar! These stylish heavyweights with a leaf pattern can be made in a flash – even if you’re not a qualified bricklayer!
We need: Packing paper to use as an underlay, quick-drying mortar, water, cooking oil, brush, bowl for mixing the mortar, palette knife for mixing, measuring cup, 2 bowls (one large one and one ca. 2 cm smaller. Important: The smaller bowl – used to produce the inner form – must be absolutely smooth on the bottom), fresh leaves with a clearly pronounced leaf structure, tesa® 64621 double-sided adhesive tape, and tesamoll® E-Profile
Stick a piece of tesa® 64621 double-sided adhesive tape to the top of a leaf and then remove the protective film. Stick the leaf to the underside of the smaller bowl, which is to provide the inner form.
Cover both of the bowls with a layer of cooking oil: the large one on the inside, the small one on the outside. This will ensure that both forms can be separated easily again.
Mix the quick-drying mortar with water according to the instructions. Important: The mixture must be used as quickly as possible!
Pour the mixture into the larger bowl. This will provide the outer form. Now place the smaller bowl with the leaf inside the larger bowl immediately. Press the smaller bowl down into the mixture and hold it for a short amount of time until it starts to dry. This will take about 2 minutes. Then let it dry completely.
Remove the bowl from the form.
A strip of tesamoll® E-Profile is stuck to the bottom of the bowl to ensure it does not scratch any tables.
