The programme, aimed at Year 1, 2 and 3 apprentices and mature students, provides a better understanding of the use of tesa’s masking tapes and applications using a mix of classroom presentations and practical sessions.
The 2017/18 schedule is well underway, with training sessions in Newcastle, Leeds, Nottingham, Barnfield, Walsall and Leicester already complete. Colleges in Blackpool and Hull are also scheduled to be visited by tesa in 2018.
“When we found out tesa would be running dedicated college training sessions for a second year, I jumped at the chance to bring them back” said Kirk Staines, Programme Lead at Leicester College. “On both occasions our learners were engaged during the class room based technical, and historical presentations, then had the opportunity to use products in practical sessions. The learners were working on decorative effects which feature substantial amounts of masking and even used tesa tapes to paint the college’s Gold Accredited restaurant. The products did not disappoint, and I am sure the learners will have brand awareness of tesa products in the future. I would recommend tesa demonstrating to any P&D department or painting company”.
