Pull out around 11 single threads from the natural bast strand. Cut two threads of rayon bast in two different colors in the length of the natural bast. Now tightly bundle all threads at 3 cm from one end with a piece of bast.
03
Divide the strand into three equal parts (2x with color, 1x only natural) and braid a plait.
04
Tie the end of the braid with a piece of bast.
05
Cut off the ends in a straight line up to 3 cm.
06
From the finished braid, cut two 25-cm pieces. Tie the open ends with a piece of bast three centimeters below the cut edges and unravel the small braided pieces. Repeat all steps with different colors. You need four 25-cm braids in different colors for each napkin ring.
07
Apply a strip of tesa® Handicraft Tape around the cardboard roll.
08
Cut off the part of the cardboard roll that is covered by the tape.
09
Remove the protective film from the tape.
10
Stick the first braid on the roll, press firmly. The ends cross over the top.
11
Now stick the other braids on the roll, alternating the colors.
