Yazaki North & Central America Names tesa tape Bulk and Raw Material Green Supplier of the Year
Top automotive supplier Yazaki North America named tesa tape Green Supplier of the Year at its annual awards ceremony, honoring them with the Bulk and Raw Material Category award. tesa tape was chosen from Yazaki’s top 103 suppliers in North and Central America.
“Yazaki’s Green Supplier of the Year program is another way that we reinforce our committed to helping create a society capable of sustainable development,” said Olga Alavanou, executive vice president, Supply Chain Management. “Working together we can make a difference, and I am pleased to honor Yazaki suppliers whose commitment to the environment is as strong as ours.”
Mr. Brent Phillips, tesa’s Director of Wire Harness for the Americas, commented on receiving the award: “tesa is honored to receive this award from Yazaki North America and be recognized as a leader in environmental stewardship. Environmental responsibility is a pillar of both Yazaki and tesa’s corporate cultures. This award will serve as motivation for tesa to achieve even greater environmentally responsible benchmark goals in the years ahead”.
“tesa tape was chosen to receive this award due to its many initiatives related to responsible tape manufacturing practices, including emissions, waste, and energy usage reductions, all resulting in minimizing the company’s impact on the environment,” shared Mr. Tom DuPont, Plant Manager at the tesa’s Sparta, Michigan, facility.
Held on June 5, 2013, to honor World Environmental Day, the Yazaki Green Supplier of the Year program recognizes suppliers who have made significant contributions to the preservation of the environment through their manufacturing, production, and delivery processes and have exceeded others in their effort to reduce their impact on the environment.
Yazaki established this program in 2007 as the benchmark for all Yazaki companies and affiliates throughout North and Central America.
