Norderstedt, December 03, 2024 - tesa, an international manufacturer of innovative adhesive tapes and self-adhesive product solutions, embarks on a groundbreaking AI transformation journey and utilizes Snowflake, the AI Data Cloud company, to optimize its business operations.

By implementing predictive and generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), tesa will elevate its business processes, further strengthening the company's position in Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT), and Industry 5.0. This strategic move enables tesa to extract and analyze crucial data from its shop floor machines more effectively, while unifying its data ecosystem and tools - including APIs, IoT devices, ERP, marketing data and virtual assistants that can help sales reps - on a central platform. Unlike previous solutions that took weeks, tesa can now collect this data within hours.

tesa’s AI transformation strategy aims to drive data-driven decision-making and individual customer solutions even faster. A key focus is optimizing data collection for production, simulations, and the creation of digital process twins – across the entire brand portfolio.

Staying ahead of the curve: Close collaboration between tesa and Snowflake to continue

Over the past two years, tesa has extensively integrated advanced data solutions across various business areas and processes, including digital manufacturing, eCommerce, sales and marketing, and sustainability.

By leveraging the Snowflake AI Data Cloud, tesa is enhancing its ability to be more data-driven and AI-focused in its daily operations. “We are committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in our industry. I am convinced that the integration of additional AI and machine learning solutions into our daily business and production processes will bring immediate measurable success – regarding both efficiency and effectiveness,” adds Dr. Jörg Diesfeld.

As part of its gen AI rollout and collaboration with Snowflake, tesa plans to build virtual assistants that can help sales teams answer complex questions about its industrial adhesive products even faster. Additionally, tesa will work with Snowflake on tesa’s development and testing of manufacturing related AI and ML use cases, leveraging tesa’s expertise within the sector.
