Enhance printer and copier assembly processes with specialized tape

Our flexible tesa® tapes help the printer and copier sector to streamline production processes while improving device quality and reliability. And our specialized tapes allow you to attach parts securely to plastic, metal, or most other materials.

Moreover, the tapes in our assortment have a conformable backing that easily sticks to irregular surfaces and die-cut well, so you can bond even small plastic or rubber parts to the substrate precisely and cleanly. And of course, the printer and copier tapes we develop at tesa feature aging, temperature, moisture, and shock resistance. Most importantly, unlike liquid glue, there is no curing time, aka, time required for the glue to set.

Displays are mounted to the device with double-sided tape.
Display mounting
Foam and plastic tapes: Displays already equipped with double-sided tape can be applied efficiently and cleanly.
Emblems are mounted to the device with double-sided tape.
Emblem mounting
Plastic tapes: With double-sided tapes, emblems can be mounted without puncturing the metal or plastic substrates.
The PET liner is bonded with double-sided tape.
Paper guide mounting
Non-woven double-sided tape bonds the PET liner to the device for paper guiding.
Flywheel Discs are mounted to the plastic substrate with a die cut.
Flywheel disc mounting
Non-woven tapes: Transparent material can be mounted to the plastic substrate on the flywheel with a die cut.
Scanner glasses are mounted to the printer body with double-sided tape.
Scanner glass mounting
Non-woven or acrylic foam tapes bond the scanner glass onto the printer body.
Document sponges are mounted to the back of the substrate with double-sided tape.
Document sponge attachement
Non-woven or plastic tapes bond the document sponge directly to the substrate.
The flexible printed circuit is fixed by double-sided tape.
Fixation of flexible printed circuit boards (FPC)
Non-woven tapes secure flat ribbons to FPCs.
Small parts are mounted to the substrate to cover the holes.
Hole covering
Plastic and non-woven tapes: Many small parts made of plastic or rubber have to be mounted to the substrate to cover holes.
Cables are bundled with single-sided tape

01Wire harnessing tapes

Within a copier or printer, cables need to be bundled neatly and insulated well to ensure reliability. When it comes to wire harnessing, our single-sided plastic and cloth tapes provide both flexibility and ensure good insulation. We offer tapes that have high tensile strength as well as a conformable backing that sticks to irregular surfaces.

Foam is laminated with double-sided tapes as a damper or insulation to absorb shocks.

02Foam lamination, dampening and cushioning tapes

Foam is commonly used in printers and copiers as a damper and cushion for effective shock absorption. Plastic and non-woven tapes can be used to insulate against noise and dampen or absorb shocks

The toner sealer is protected by tape.

03Ink cartridge protection tapes

When it comes to securing ink cartridges, non-woven tapes are ideally suited to the job, as they bond strongly to the PET liner, are flexible, and extremely conformable. The user should be able to remove the protective tape by hand, yet it should also be tear resistant. So, we work with manufacturers to supply tapes with reliable bonding strength, as well as a high level of shear and temperature resistance.

The surface is protected by tape.

04Surface protection tapes

Masking and surface protection tapes protect glass, plastic, and painted metal parts to avoid scratches, dirt, and other defects during the assembly, transport, and installation process.

To avoid damages during transportation, tape can be used.

05Strapping tapes

Secure parts for transport with our strapping solutions. The tape absorbs some of the load so that heavy impacts do not affect moving parts, preventing damage.

FAQ

What types of tesa® tapes are recommended for use in copier and printer manufacturing?

The range includes masking and surface protection tapes for protecting parts during assembly, strapping tapes for securing parts during transport, non-woven tapes for fixing document sponges and bonding scanner glass, and double-sided plastic tapes for mounting emblems and displays.

Can tesa® tapes be used on rough surfaces?

Yes, we offer adhesive solutions that have a conformable backing improving the adhesive wetting to bond to rough surfaces and can be die-cut for precise application.

Are tesa® tapes designed for the lifetime of appliance devices?

tesa® tapes are available specifically tested and designed to be resistant to aging, temperature, moisture, and shock, ensuring the longevity and reliability of the bond.

What solutions does tesa offer for the secure transport of copiers and printers?

tesa® strapping tapes are used to secure parts and absorb some of the load during transport, reducing potential damage to the machines. tesa® carton sealing tapes can be used for box closure and are also available as more sustainable versions.

Can tesa® tapes be used for mounting small parts?

The conformability and die-cutting capabilities of these tapes make them ideal for precisely and cleanly bonding even small plastic or rubber parts to substrates.
